What Is A Sprinkler Tank and How Does it Work?
Sometimes known as fire tanks, sprinkler tanks are designed to store water that is distributed to sprinkler systems in the event of emergency. As a sprinkler-fitted room gains temperature, a glycerine-based glass tube within the sprinkler head will expand and eventually break at 68°C, allowing water flow from the connected tank.
How Often Do Sprinkler Tanks Need Relining?
Sprinkler tanks are often installed externally and are therefore exposed to extreme conditions and temperatures. We therefore we recommend routine inspections at least twice per annum to assess the internal condition. Ultimately, there's no set timeframe as to how regularly your sprinkler tank would need to be relined, however our relines come with a 10-year guarantee which typically offers effective protection beyond this period.
How Can Identify If My Sprinkler Tanks Need Repairing?
Signs of a sprinkler tank in need of repair may include visible leaks, reduced water pressure, unusual noises from the tank or valves, rusty or corroded components, or a sudden decrease in water level without any obvious reason.
